Double Digits

On January 14th Alycia turned 10. Time has gone by so fast and already my sweet baby is 10. I think the next 10 might be filled with even more excitement and challenges!

We started the day opening a present from Pop and Grannie.

Then we headed out to spend that birthday money. Thanks to Harmony (and Danny) we were able to go without Davis. We went to Charming Charlies and picked out some jewelry.

We then had to wait for dinner for the rest of the surprises. Papa and Mumo came for dinner, home made Mac and cheese (Alycia's favorite).

I think this picture says it all. She got a new electric guitar and loves it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALYCIA!

Girls Remodel

The girls have been wanting to repaint their bedroom (since August) I kept telling them over Christmas break... Well Christmas break actually came... Imagine that so...

BEFORE

After. They picked an ocean turquoise a dark and a light.

It was really exciting to let them pick out what colors they wanted. They were inspired from their guitar teachers studio. I loved being able to spend time with them!

5 day weekend

I have enjoyed my 5 day weekend because of the snow days. We played in the snow, went sledding, and pretty much lounged around. Too bad Spencer had to work.

Today we went to McDonalds in the freezing cold just to get us out of the house.

I am ready for the kids to go back to school. Just for one day then we have another 5 day weekend because of the Martin Luther King holiday.

Snow Day!!

We got the call at 6:00 a.m. That school was closed for the day because of snow. We lounged around all morning and then we cleaned a bit and then we got ready to go play in the snow.

This was Cal's first year going out by himself and he loved it!!!

Alycia even shoveled!

The kids played outside for a while and patiently waited for Spencer to get home to go sledding

We had a great time. Cal even went down and loved it but didn't want to try again.

Bedtime Battles

We have hit the age where Cal has become very independent. He is becoming more difficult to get to go to bed. Here is just a small taste of what we go through every night. He usually comes in multiple times...

Some favorites

Spencer's family had boxing gloves growing and he has always wanted some for our kids. This year Santa fulfilled that wish and Cal loves them the most!

Christmas

December is usually a busy month but for us this year it felt especially busy. It started on the 1st with Cal's surgery (tonsillectomy and tubes) and cotinued from there with Spencer going out of town for work, liberty Nutcracker performances, family coming to town, LS Nutcracker performances with Alycia as Clara, and Alycia's surgery (tonsillectomy) on the 21st.

It was so nice to have a couple of days with just us and have no where we needed to be!

The kids slept in and we didn't even go down until 8:00.

Kindergarten Transition Day

So Davis has turned 5 and gets to go to Kindergarten this year.  The schools here have a day for just the kindergartners to go by themselves.  Davis got on the bus like a pro... didn't even say goodbye.  He loved it and excited for the real first day which is tomorrow!

My baby is growing up.  We came home from Utah and he no longer looked like a baby to me....  We celebrated his second birthday at home with Mummo and Papa.

We have had a great summer.  After we finished up swim team we headed out to Utah.  Our first two days were spent with Millie & Brian in Payson UT.  Then we headed up to Salt Lake.  We were able to go up Brighton and stay at my brothers wonderful cabin.  The kids absolutely LOVED it!!! On the way home we stopped in Denver and visited some friends who just moved there.
