Having taught two other children how to read I thought Davis would be a breeze. No such luck, there is no way to get my 4 year old to sit still (and inside) for a reading lesson. He is now 5 1/2 and is really coming along! It's exciting to see him get it!

No Electronic Weekend!
The kids school brought home a note saying that their school was sponsoring a no electronics weekend. No phones, televisions, DSI, iPods, computers, etc.
Spencer and I are thinking no way we can't do it... We did it and survived. We started at 7:00 p.m. Friday night and took the kids to sears to get a basketball. Saturday we spent the morning riding bikes then we headed to Isaac (our nephew's) eagle scout award ceremony. Then on to science center for the afternoon.

You know when you are exhausted and you you rent a movie and come home and relax. Nope not for us. Instead we had a family sleep over. We brought everyone's mattresses and blankets down. Told stories and fell asleep.

It was fun to spend the time with each other but we are glad we have our electronic devices back.
