4th Grade Talent Show

So busy here at the end of the year... Lillie just performed in her 4th grade talent show and did AWESOME!  She is such a cute performer!

Alycia and the end of 6th Grade

Wow my baby is done with elementary.  First an embarrassing baby picture...

 What a cutie.  I cannot believe how grown up and mature she is (most of the time).  

Now my 12 year old!

 Last night was here 6th Grade Recognition night. She was one of the few students who were awarded the President's award for educational excellence.  To do this you have to have to maintain an A average for 4th, 5th, and 6th grades.  She is such a great student!

This year has flown by and the end is near...  We had 6th grade talent show that Alycia played an awesome rock song medley.

Cal's Broken Collarbone

We had a great park adventure, climbing the rock and playing with friends.

 

 What happens when a 9 year old girl on a bike hits Cal standing?

A trip to the ER, E-Rays, and lots of stickers and a broken collarbone.

Good thing kids heal fast. Sling for 2 weeks and he is back to our normal active fun-loving Cal!

First Day of School

The summer went by so fast and before we knew it the first day of school had arrived. The kids had all gone to JCPenney's for new hair cuts. The girls both searched the Internet for their new look.

Alycia is a 6th grader (last year as an elementary student), Lillie is in 4th grade and Davis is in 2nd grade.

They all came home with smiles and seemed to enjoy the first day.


Cal did not anticipate the first day of school with joy. He tried to make a deal where the girls could go and Davis could just stay home with us. He had a rough first day but took a 3 hour nap (summer wore him out)!

"That's What I Call Awesome!"

Last night as Cal was supposed to be in bed he kept coming in and showing us his jammies. He kept adding to his outfit until he thought it was complete and then told us "that's what I call awesome."

It's a hard knock life!!

Birthday Boys

This year we did a joint birthday for the boys. Cal and Davis loved sharing their birthday party! We had a party at the indoor pool and they both invoked some church friends and cousins. We were so glad that Danny and George were in town and could celebrate with us! Davis is now 7 and Cal will be 4. Oh my babies are growing up!

Later that night we had the boy cousins spend the night. Best sleepover ever. Wear the kids out at the pool and they come home and all fall asleep.

New bed...

I've been looking for a loft be for the girls for almost a year and have just never found one that I loved. Partly because they were not what I wanted or they cost way more than I wanted to spend.

Found one on Craigslist for just the right price (cheap). Bought some black stain and we went to work. Good thing it was over 100 degrees plus humidity. HOT! Hot! HOT!

We are thrilled with the results!

American Rhythm Camp

The kids recently had the opportunity to participate in a dance theater camp this past week. They LOVED it! Cal even got to perform one dance and be a pirate!

Easter 2012

The Easter Bunny came early to our house this year.... With early church and Spencer actually home the whole weekend (no DJ's).  We asked the Easter bunny to deliver the baskets Saturday morning so that we could focus on what Easter is really all about on Sunday....

Friday night we dyed Eggs.  I love how excited Cal was.... he is at that age where everything is new and he gets SOOOO excited!

Then on Saturday morning the kids set out to find the baskets the Easter bunny left for the kids.  The Easter Bunny likes to hide our baskets outside and tries to make them really hard to find!  This year they were harder to hide since they were bigger baskets...

Homemade Pita Bread

So to begin I will say that I am addicted to pinterest, I love it. 

I love seeing what other people like and getting great ideas for so many creative people.  

I saw a pin for Pita bread and thought "that looks so simple I can do that."   

Well I did and I was amazed at how easy it is to make Pita bread!   Everyone loved it it was so yummy!  We have picky eaters at our house, me being one of them!  But we ALL loved theses!

Diet Coke vs Flax

 The girls picked the diet coke side and began their mix.  The recipe is 1 can per box of Brownies instead of the water, oil and eggs....

The boys picked the flax side.  In case you were wondering you can substitute flax for the oil and eggs.   

And the winner is..... neither. (well actually a tie everyone voted for their own team except Cal he voted for both).  We all decided that the calories saved aren't worth the loss in taste.  So the moral of the story is just make regular brownies and eat less of them.  

Hide and Seek with Cal...

Cal has a fascination with Hide and Seek but doesn't quite understand the concept... he usually hides under his bed again and again but today he found a new hiding spot...

Lillie's 3rd Grade Performance

We had a great night on Thursday, Lillie had her 3rd grade singing performance.  

She has been waiting 4 long years for a speaking part the this was her big year...  Spencer tried to talk her into beginning with "Howdy Y'all" 

We went and enjoyed some Costa Vida afterwards.
